Welcome back to the "God is Not Boxable" podcast and blog. My name is Shaniece Wise, and I am your Business Expansion Coach and Strategist. This week's topic is "You are God's Business." In the journey of entrepreneurship, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day challenges and successes that define the life of a business owner. However, amidst the hustle and bustle, it's crucial to remember a fundamental truth that reshapes our perspective: You Are God's business.
This isn't just a comforting thought; it's a principle and a promise rooted in God. It offers profound implications for how we conduct business and live our lives. As a business coach, I often remind my clients that the way they live their lives is reflected in how they run their businesses.
Not long ago, the NBA Basketball Player Trey Burke shared something profound at one of my son's open gyms. He said, "The way you live your life shows up on the basketball court." Similarly, how we conduct our business reflects how we live our lives. If we're messy or disorganized in life, it spills over into our business. If we struggle with time and money management, it also affects our business.
When we work on ourselves as individuals, we also work on our businesses. Scripture tells us, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). This verse illuminates the fact that God deliberately creates us with purpose and potential.
In the context of business, this means that our entrepreneurial journey is not solely our own undertaking; it's a path deeply invested in by God. Recognizing that we are God's business shifts the paradigm of business ownership. It introduces the principle of stewardship, where we manage not just our resources but God's resources entrusted to us. This principle encourages us to make decisions that honor God's values of integrity, generosity, and service. It challenges us to ask: Are we conducting our business in a way that reflects our stewardship of God's investment in us?
Another promise that underscores the concept of being God's business is found in Philippians 4:19: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." This promise speaks to every entrepreneur's heart, ensuring we are not alone in our endeavors. God is actively interested in our success and well-being because we are His masterpieces.
When we align our business practices with God's principles, we open ourselves up to a new realm of possibilities. This alignment transforms our perspective on success, moving beyond financial achievements to include spiritual growth, community impact, and personal fulfillment.
It encourages us to see our business as a ministry - a platform through which God can work, impacting lives and reflecting His love and grace to the world. So, as you go about your business this week, remember: You are God's business.
